Summary:

The Marina Operations Manager oversees all dock activity ensuring effective, efficient operations that comply with all safety regulations; ensure guest satisfaction with their experience at facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Ensures human and physical resources are efficiently and effectively scheduled and used to provide optimal service levels
  • Provides input on revenues and operating expenses of the docks for budgeting purposes. Monitors budget vs actual and takes appropriate action in case of variances
  • Ensures administration is up-to-date and reliable at all times
  • Oversees all activities related to assisting guests with securing their vessels to assigned docks; ensures utility lines (power and water) are properly connected to guest vessels and monitored and that appropriate billing is initiated; operates small boats while assisting vessels to the dock
  • Understands and adheres to safety and environmental regulations regarding spillage, clean up, fuel transportation, etc., ensuring that the recognized safety standards are maintained and that quality and delivery commitments are met.
  • Ensures assistance to vessels with black water and waste oil removal and disposing of garbage from vessels.
  • Coordinates in-slip and fuel-dock refueling activity ensuring compliance with all associated safety standards.
  • Ensures Dock Assistants provide appropriate dockside transportation and baggage service to guests; personally transports guests and baggage as required.
  • Coordinates and ensures delivery of provisions, mail, packages and requested services to guest vessels; expedites any and all requests from vessels.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Team on preventive and unscheduled maintenance activities and is responsible for all marina related equipment including launches, workboats, work rafts and golf carts; provide feedback to the Marina General Manager on work schedules.
  • Provides general security and supports marina and facility security teams in their security related efforts; reports disturbances in dock area to superiors and maintains general vigilance.
  • Ensures dock facility is maintained according to operational standards and monitors dock area to ensure compliance; overall responsibility for cleaning and maintaining of Marina premises
  • Assists Fuel department when needed
  • Ensures all log books and reporting is up to date and correct
  • Maintains VHF radio and in-person communication with vessels, Marina office and marina management.
  • Perform or delegate dock walks at regular intervals to ensure quality service and anticipate customer needs.

Specifications:

Management Responsibilities:

Directly Manages 6 to 12 employees in the Marina. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; scheduling and planning of staff and other resources, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervises activities of Dock Assistants, and coordinates with Guest Services and Fuel Attendants. Ability/willingness to work shift work, including weekends and some holidays.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); or two to five years related supervisory/management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • VHF Operator’s certificate, boating license and basic first aid required.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Power boat qualification (RYA, USC, AYF, or other equivalents)
  • Basic first Aid (preferred)

Summary:

The Marina Technology Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the operations of the Marina technical infrastructure, as well as supporting staff in day-to-day operations. Support will be provided through email, chat, and phone to a user base of roughly 250 with computers running Microsoft Windows software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Manage IT assets of local marina.
  • Assist with the maintenance of IGY’s IT infrastructure including, but not limited to:
    • Microsoft 365.
    • Microsoft Windows Server and Roles.
    • Cisco Meraki Network.
    • TOP Desk.
    • Voice services.
    • Systems Monitoring.
    • Systems Security.
    • Data Integrity.
  • Ensure a high level of system availability.
  • Manage monitoring systems.
  • Build and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining IT security.
  • Participate in IT security assessments, risk analysis, and reporting.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Respond to support tickets via email, chat, and phone.
  • Install and customize Windows based computer systems.

Summary:

Provides dockside service to Marina guests, provides information and customer service to guests by performing duties included a part of the marina’s customer service standards.
Responsible for placing vessels in and out of the dry stacks and water following all local and federal guidelines. Responsible for maintaining all dry stack areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Assists Dock Master in marina related duties such as securing vessels to docks, assisting with drop in and haul out procedures, ensuring waste disposal and facility sanitation.
  • Coordinate with Dock Master and marina office staff the loading and unloading of vessels between the dry stack and the appropriate water insertion areas.
  • Use visual and radio communication with a spotter to verify traffic stopped in both directions before crossing 37th Street.
  • Verify all Forklift visual and audio safety equipment is on before crossing 37th Street.
  • Maintain the upkeep, organization, and cleanliness of the dry stack areas.
  • Work with the dock master and GM on vessel placement and sales of dry stack berths.
  • Washing and cleaning vessels that have been transported on the lifts and other vessels that require assistance.
  • Assists with fuel when needed and ensures safe fueling procedures.
  • Operates small boats while assisting vessels to dock or maintenance needs.
  • Maintains continual communication with vessels, marina office and fuel dock to ensure timely and efficient dock arrivals, dock departures, including daily radio contact as well as sharing information toward slip usage planning.
  • Routinely greets all arrivals and anticipates vessel needs and providing such within marina’s ability to perform; assists guest services by promoting timely departure with vessel; advises guest services of any changes or requests from vessel.
  • Regularly monitors current slip usage multiple times through the day (dock walk).
  • Provides proper upkeep of docks and dock features by sweeping and/or picking up debris. Repairs cleats, docks, signage, pilings, carts, lines, and other marina related items as needed.
  • Removes trash, debris, litter; cans, bottles, cartons, cigarette butts, bags and paper from the docks and dock areas, and brings it to the assigned collection place or dumpster.
  • Greets and registers guests and provides customer service to marina policy standards.
  • Makes and confirms reservations, verifies arrival and departure times, maintains records of slip availability.
  • Manages all guest financial transactions, verifies credit status and issues with charge cards- where applicable, computes final bills and collects appropriate payments.
  • Answers phones, transmits, and receives messages for the marina office.
  • Maintains VHF radio with guests and marina staff.
  • Issues facility security ID and supports marina and facility security teams as needed.
  • Provides general assistance with special events.
  • Is prepared to cover assignments for others in the service department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must be proficient on computers and specifically with Microsoft Office.
Experience with marina software preferred.
Must know how to swim, as this position works at or around water.
